The name The name Yahweh is actually one of, if not the most sacred name of God.
It means “I Am”.
And that means that He is everything that we need Him to be.
He is the “I AM” to everything I am not… and the same is true for you.
I remember telling God how sad I was that I was not a perfect parent to my son, silly I know no one is the perfect parent but I really wanted to be.
But instead of being perfect, I remember being a single mom in desperate need of healing and deliverance, riddled with anxiety, depression and so much regret for someone so young.
I was so sad because I knew my son deserved more. He deserved the best mother in the world and that just wasn’t me.
Even though I did absolutely everything I could to love him well I wanted Him to have more. I wanted him to have a whole parent. A healed parent.
All I could see was what I wasn’t and I wished there were someone who could fill in the gaps.
The thing people say to comfort moms who feel like failures is, “if you weren’t a good enough mom God wouldn’t have given him to you” didn’t comfort me one bit.
But do you know what did?
When God said, “Sara, you don’t have to be the perfect parent for Samuel… I Am.” He proceeded to educate me on His name,
Yahweh, “I Am”.
He told me that every single thing I lacked, He was for me and for Samuel. If only I would walk in repentance and trust Him. His grace was enough to fill in every single gap there was.
18 years later and He’s still whispering to me “trust me as Yahweh”.
And when I am struggling my return to trust I so much quicker than I ever thought possible.
And I know this for a fact. He wants to say this to your heart,
“I Am” with you when you’re lonely.
“I AM” strong when you are weak.
“I Am” whole where you are broken.
“I AM” love when you are hated.
He is saying, “I Am everything you need”.
I’m curious, what do you need Him to be for you? Do you know?
There is so much power in knowing the answer to that question.
God bless you as you ponder that question with the Great I AM
