I remember when had no idea how to live in wisdom and so could not distinguish the way to go rightly.
At times wisdom seemed foolish to me and other times wisdom seemed like a good principles but it would go in one ear and out another. I couldn’t retain it let alone live it.
It wasn’t until I learned to fear the Lord, realizing the consequences of my massive foolishness that seemed like wisdom to me, that I discovered how to cling to the guidance of God’s Word, which was revealed to me in a new way by the Holy Spirit.
When you feel lost in how to proceed in life or process what’s going on around you, remember that God provides guidance in the form of wisdom through His Holy Word and His Holy Spirit. He longs to give wisdom abundantly, but often, wisdom seems foolish to us when we are not fully submitted to Him, and as a result, we cannot hear the guidance we are asking for that He is in fact giving liberally… this is such a sad reality because it causes people to feel abandoned by Him when in reality we are simply not willing to listen to Him. Wisdom seems like foolishness to those who are perishing and that’s where many of us are and we don’t even know it because we refuse to see our lack of submission as the issue and we blame God for where we find ourselves stuck. Ugh this breaks my heart and is a sobering reality.
Some of us are saved but still find ourselves perishing in foolishness while we’re here on earth. We’re not experiencing the abundant peace the Lord has for us, simply because we refuse to let Him lead us beside still waters and restore our souls. We fail to recognize how deeply our soul wounds affect our ability to hear God clearly. It all begins with a heart posture that is willing to repent and understand that we cannot do it on our own.
If you long to experience the Lord as your Guide but struggle to discern what is right, start by asking Him to reveal which areas of your life are not fully submitted to Him. Ask Him why and patiently wait for His response. He yearns to guide you and lead you towards a healed soul and repentance, so that powerful lines of communication can be opened up. He loves you unconditionally and doesn’t make Himself inaccessible. He is always available whenever you’re ready.

The writing above references several biblical concepts. Here are the concepts and corresponding verses:
1. Jesus ascending into Heaven: This refers to the event of Jesus returning to Heaven after His resurrection. Mark 16:19 says, “So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.”
2. Sending the Holy Spirit: This refers to Jesus’ promise to send the Holy Spirit to His disciples after His ascension. John 14:16-17 says, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.”
3. Jesus being with us always: This concept emphasizes the ongoing presence of Jesus in the lives of believers. Matthew 28:20 says, “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
4. Wisdom and guidance from God: This highlights the importance of seeking wisdom and guidance from God, which can be found in His Word and through the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
5. Fearing the Lord: This concept refers to having reverence and respect for God, recognizing His authority and obeying His commands. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”
6. Submission to God: This emphasizes the need to humble ourselves and submit to God’s will and guidance. James 4:7-8 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”
7. Seeking God’s guidance through prayer: This encourages seeking God’s guidance through prayer and asking Him to reveal areas of our lives that need to be submitted to Him. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
