Don’t you know how good I am? Are you still so faithless?
Yes, it’s storming, but I’m not going to let it truly hurt you.
Yes, our definition of hurt may be different, but mine is better.
You have left everything behind to follow me. I’m not leaving you or forsaking you now or ever.
I am with you.
I’m in the storm too.
I’m in the boat too.
I’m not going to let it sink and drown you, and me survive.
I have good plans for you, and you can trust that no matter what happens, I’m going to bring those plans to pass if you daily choose me over the world.
Come on, relax.
Take a nap, rest, and let me instruct you in your sleep.
Trust me, I got this, and if I’m not worried, why in the world should you be?
But because I see you are worried and I understand you, I’m going to help. I’m going to move to show you that I am here. I am going to comfort you with my presence, and you’re going to have to choose to see it and to let that calm the storm within.
Without faith and trust and remembering that above all, I am good and righteous, you’re going to freak out again, and there will never be peace for you.
At some point, you are going to have to choose to take up the shield of faith and then position your feet, shod in shoes of the gospel of peace in fight stance, ready to be totally and completely immovable in the truth of the gospel. Trusting that by the clear demonstration of the gospel, I’m in ultimate control, and I am good, and that I AM God.
– from God to me and you!
A response prayer of agreement with the word of the Lord
Heavenly Father,
I come before you in agreement with your word and promises. I acknowledge your goodness and faithfulness, even in the midst of storms. I thank you for assuring me that you will not let any harm truly come to me, for your definition of hurt is better than mine.
I have chosen to follow you, and I trust that you will never leave me nor forsake me. I believe that you are with me in the storm, in the boat, ensuring that I will not be overcome. Your plans for me are good, and I choose to trust in your faithfulness to bring them to fruition as I daily choose you over the world.
Help me to relax and rest in your presence, knowing that you are in control. Teach me in my moments of rest and guide me with your wisdom. I choose to cast away my worries and fear, and to trust in your unfailing love and power.
When doubts and fears arise, remind me to take up the shield of faith and stand firm in the truth of your gospel. Help me to be immovable, knowing that you are sovereign and righteous. Let your presence comfort me and calm the storms within me, as I choose to see and acknowledge your hand at work in my life.
I surrender my fears, worries, and uncertainties to you, Lord. I choose to trust in your perfect plan and your goodness. Thank you for being my God, my protector, and my guide. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
